Lamar's History Timeline
In 1997, Lamar Jackson was born in Southern Florida. His Dad died when he was 8 years old so he was raised by his mom, Felicia Jones. That year, she enrolled him in a youth football league. In 2013, he became the quarterback at Boynton Beach Community High School.

Lamar attended Louisville University to play for Bobby Petrino. In 2016, he had one of the best seasons in college football history. He threw 30 touchdowns and rushed for 1,571 yards. That year Jackson won the Heisman Trophy as the best player in college football. He was the youngest Heisman winner ever. In 2018, he went into the NFL Draft.

With the Baltimore Ravens choosing him as the last pick of the first round of the draft, Lamar backed up Joe Flacco. In November 2018, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco injured his hip and Jackson took over. He won three of the next four games. When Flacco was healthy again about a month later, the coaches kept Jackson in the game.

Philanthropy
Jackson spends time and money helping others. In 2018, he gave $25,000 to Blessings in a Backpack. The group provides food for children who don’t always get enough to eat. Jackson’s donation provided food for hundreds of children throughout the school year.
In 2019, Jackson attended a Halloween party. The event raised money to help kids at risk of bullying and other dangers. Partygoers, ate, danced, and voted in a costume contest. Jackson dressed up as the famous wizard, Harry Potter.
